About Us
JEDI Virtual School is a public charter school that works collaboratively with districts to provide a variety of learning opportunities to elementary, middle, and high school students. We are made up of a consortium of school districts and are overseen by our Governance Board which includes 2 Superintendents from our Consortium and Community Members. Our consortium districts include Beaver Dam, Beloit Turner, Cambridge, Columbus, Edgerton, Evansville, Fort Atkinson, Marshall, Mauston, Monroe, Poynette, Sun Prairie, Trevor-Wilmot, and Waterloo.
Our chartering district is the Marshall School District. Students who are residents of our consortium districts graduate with a diploma from their resident district. Students who would like to attend JEDI, but do not reside in one of our Consortium Districts, can use the Wisconsin Open Enrollment process to Open Enroll to the Marshall School District.
Our Story
Offering our first distance education class during the 1996-1997 school year. JEDI was the first school of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. Since the inception of virtual education, JEDI has grown and evolved to meet the needs of students with the increasing technology that is available to us. JEDI has the ability to offer the benefits of both the brick-and-mortar and online learning environments through relationships with our consortium districts and a variety of online courses to lead students to academic success.
Our focus on personalized attention to students is paramount and is evidenced through our multiple layers of communication. Students have highly qualified, certified teachers to oversee their learning in their courses.
Full-time students work with a Student Advisor to oversee their schedule of courses, monitor their grades and attendance, and help to communicate with their teachers and district counselors to assure the best learning environment possible. Full-time students in grades 6-12 are also assigned Learning Coaches to help pace their classes and monitor their achievements.
The JEDI school format provides learners the flexibility to go to school anytime and virtually anywhere they can access the Internet. They are also able to utilize resources in their district buildings, if they choose, including WIAA sports and other Extra-Curricular Activities.
Our passionate JEDI Virtual School team is dedicated to upholding the best academic environment possible for each unique learner.
